How do I enable SEO and AI rich snippets?

Requirements

  • SEO and AI rich snippets are available on our Pro and Plus plans only.
  • Only available when using the Mintt Instafeed app section in Shopify 2.0 themes.
  • Currently not available for automatic product and collection feeds.

Overview

SEO and AI Rich Snippets add structured data to your Instafeed posts so search engines and AI systems can better understand your Instagram content.

Instead of only seeing images, systems like Google Search can interpret details such as captions, publish dates, author information, and media type.

This improves how your content is understood and indexed, which can support organic discoverability over time.

What this feature does

Instagram posts are visually rich but often lack machine-readable context.

This feature adds structured metadata so search engines and AI tools can better interpret your content, including:

  • Caption text
  • Publish date
  • Brand and Instagram profile
  • Media type (image or video)

It does not change how your feed looks on your storefront.

How to enable

  1. Open Shopify admin
  2. Go to Apps → Instafeed → Integrations
  3. Find SEO and AI Rich Snippets
  4. Turn the toggle ON
  5. Ensure the Instafeed app block is added to your homepage (Shopify 2.0 theme)

Once enabled, structured data is automatically generated and updated on each sync.

Each post includes structured metadata such as:

  • Publish date
  • Caption
  • Brand / Instagram profile
  • Image or video details

New posts are included automatically during the next feed sync. If you want to test how the structure looks on search engines, you can use Google's Rich Results Test.

Common questions

  1. How long does it take for my posts to appear in search results?

Once enabled, posts are ready for crawlers as soon as the Instafeed block is on the homepage and the feed has synced. Search engines still need to crawl and index the site — often several days to a few weeks depending on your store's SEO health.

  1. What kind of rich results can my posts show up as?

Each post is described as social media content — including captions, dates, brand name, and media type. This is not the same as product snippets, FAQs, or review stars. The main benefit is better discoverability, not a guaranteed fancy card in Google.

  1. Do I need Google Search Console for this to work?

No. It works as soon as the feature is enabled on Pro or Plus with the Instafeed block on the homepage. Search Console is optional for checking indexing or requesting a recrawl.

  1. Is this available on all plans?

No — Pro and Plus only. Free/Starter plans see the toggle but it's disabled until they upgrade. Also requires a Shopify 2.0 theme and the Instafeed app block on the homepage.

  1. Will this help with AI search tools like ChatGPT or Perplexity?

It can help over time, but there's no guarantee of visibility in any specific AI app. When AI tools crawl the store, structured data makes it easier to understand what was posted and who posted it — compared to images alone. There is no direct feed or partnership with any AI platform.
