The Mintt - Free Gift app lets you automatically offer different free gifts as customers reach higher cart value tiers.
This guide explains how to create a free gift offer using the Tiered rewards option.
Step 1 - Open the Mintt - Free Gift app
- In your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Mintt - Free Gift.

Step 2 - Set Trigger settings
- Under Trigger settings, select Tiered rewards.

Step 3 - Configure the reward tiers
Under Gift, configure the reward tiers customers can unlock based on their cart total.
Start with Tier 1:
- Set the Spend threshold - the minimum cart total customers must reach to qualify for the first gift.

- Click Add product and select the product customers will receive when they reach the Tier 1 threshold.

- Click Select to confirm the product.

Next, configure Tier 2 by setting a higher spend threshold and selecting another gift product.


When customers reach the Tier 2 amount, the Tier 2 gift will be added instead of the Tier 1 gift.
If needed, you can add one more tier by clicking Add tier.

Configure the spend threshold and gift product for the last tier the same way as the previous tiers.

The gift product will be automatically added to the cart when the customer reaches the corresponding spend threshold.
Step 4 - Customize the free gift banner (optional)
In the Banner section, you can customize how the free gift banner appears on your storefront.
Available options include:
- Font size
- Banner height
- Background color
- Text color

You can use the live preview to see how the banner will appear to customers.

If you do not want to show the banner on your storefront, you can disable the Banner toggle.

Step 5 - Save changes
- Click Save in the top save bar.

Step 6 - Add app to theme
- Click Enable app embed in the top app embed bar to show the free gift offer in your storefront.

Common questions
Can I turn the offer off?
Yes. Simply switch off the Free Gift toggle at the top. The banner will disappear and no gifts will be added.
How does the free gift work for customers?
When a customer reaches a configured cart total, the gift product for that tier is automatically added to their cart for free. If they reach a higher tier, the higher-tier gift replaces the previous one.
What happens if the customer removes items and goes below a tier threshold?
If the cart total drops below a tier threshold, the app will automatically update the gift based on the new qualifying tier. If the customer no longer qualifies for any tier, no gift will be added.
Will the gift show automatically in the customer's cart?
Yes. The gift will appear automatically in the cart and checkout as a free item.
