The Mintt - Free Gift app lets you automatically offer a free product when a customer reaches a set cart value.
This guide explains how to create a free gift offer using the Spend threshold option.
Step 1 - Open the Mintt - Free Gift app
- In your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Mintt - Free Gift.

Step 2 - Set Trigger settings
- Under Trigger settings, select Spend threshold.

- Then, enter the minimum cart total required for customers to qualify for the free gift. This means customers must spend more than this amount to receive the free gift.

Step 3 - Choose the gift product(s)
- Under Gift, click Add product.

- Choose the product(s) you want to offer as a free gift, then click Select.

The selected product(s) will be automatically added to qualifying carts.
Step 4 - Customize the free gift banner (optional)
In the Banner section, you can customize how the free gift banner appears on your storefront.
Available options include:
- Font size
- Banner height
- Background color
- Text color

You can use the live preview to see how the banner will look to customers.

If you do not want to show the banner on your storefront, you can disable the Banner toggle.

Step 5 - Set popup visibility (optional)
In the Popup section, you can choose if customers see a popup when they qualify for the free gift.
You can:
- Enable the popup.
When the gift is added to cart, customers will see a popup to choose or confirm their free gift.

- Disable the popup.
The free gift will still be automatically added to the cart, but customers will not see a popup.

If multiple gifts are selected, the popup will stay enabled so customers can choose their preferred gift
Step 6 - Save changes
- Click Save in the top save bar.

Step 7 - Add app to theme
- Click Enable app embed in the top app embed bar to show the free gift offer in your storefront.

Common questions
Can I turn the offer off?
Yes. Simply switch off the Free Gift toggle at the top. The banner will disappear and no gifts will be added.
How does the free gift work for customers?
When a customer’s cart total is higher than your set threshold, the selected gift product is automatically added to their cart for free.
What happens if the customer removes items and goes below the threshold?
If the order total drops below the threshold, the free gift offer will be removed. Any gift products already in the cart will remain, but at their regular price.
Will the gift show automatically in the customer's cart?
Yes. The gift will appear automatically in the cart and checkout as a free item.
