The Mintt - Free Gift app lets you automatically offer a free gift when customers add a specific product and quantity to their cart.
This guide explains how to create a free gift offer using the BOGO option.
Step 1 - Open the Mintt - Free Gift app
- In your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Mintt - Free Gift.

Step 2 - Set Trigger settings
- Under Trigger settings, select BOGO.

- Under Qualifying product, click Add product, and select the product customers must add to their cart to become eligible for the free gift.


Under Required quantity, set the minimum quantity customers must add to their cart to unlock the free gift.

Step 3 - Choose the gift product(s)
- Under Gift, click Add product.

- Choose the product(s) you want to offer as a free gift, then click Select.

The selected product(s) will be automatically added to eligible carts. If multiple gift products are selected, customers will be able to choose which gift they want.
Step 4 - Customize the free gift banner (optional)
In the Banner section, you can customize how the free gift banner appears on your storefront.
Available options include:
- Font size
- Banner height
- Background color
- Text color

You can use the live preview to see how the banner will appear to customers.

If you do not want to show the banner on your storefront, you can disable the Banner toggle.

Step 5 - Set popup visibility (optional)
In the Popup section, you can choose if customers see a popup when they qualify for the free gift.
You can:
- Enable the popup.
When the gift is added to cart, customers will see a popup to choose or confirm their free gift.

- Disable the popup.
The free gift will still be automatically added to the cart, but customers will not see a popup.

If multiple gifts are selected, the popup will stay enabled so customers can choose their preferred gift.

Step 6 - Save changes
- Click Save in the top save bar.

Step 7 - Add app to theme
- Click Enable app embed in the top app embed bar to show the free gift offer in your storefront.

Common questions
Can I turn the offer off?
Yes. Simply switch off the Free Gift toggle at the top. The banner will disappear and no gifts will be added.
How does the free gift work for customers?
When a customer adds the qualifying product in the required quantity to their cart, the selected gift product is automatically added for free.
What happens if the customer removes the qualifying product or reduces the quantity below the required amount?
If the qualifying product is removed from the cart or its quantity drops below the required amount, the free gift will be removed from the cart.
Will the gift show automatically in the customer's cart?
Yes. The gift will appear automatically in the cart and checkout as a free item.
